Ganoderma lucidum contains ergosterol, resin, fatty acid, mannitol and polysaccharides, and also contains alkaloids, lactones, coumarins, water-soluble proteins and various enzymes. The Ganoderma lucidum cap is kidney-shaped, with a russet brown surface, a lacquer-like luster and a cloud-like ring pattern. The lower part is light yellow with many fine pores; the reddish-brown shiny long stipe.
Ganoderma lucidum is generally grown in high-humidity and dimly lit mountain forests, mainly in the roots of rot trees or trees. Ganoderma lucidum is not a plant.
